Right now, if you have a loved one or family member die, you might not be able to get everyone together the way that you might like. Because of gathering restrictions and issues with traveling, your extended family and friends may just stay home. But that doesn't mean that you don't want to do something that will memorialize your loved one. There are several options that you can take advantage of.

Delayed Memorial Service

One thing that you can do is to wait and have the memorial service later, when it is safer to have larger gatherings and travel from one place to another. You can go ahead and have the interment or cremation now, and then have the memorial service or celebration of life later. If you had your loved one interred, you could tie a memorial service to placing their grave marker so that you have something special to have along with the memorial. There may be friends and family who are upset that they had to miss the burial, so this would be a way to let those people feel like they aren't missing anything. If you had your family member cremated, then you might share out the ashes to those who want them at this point.

Virtual Memorial Service

Another way to have the memorial service that you want to have for your family member is to do it virtually. There are a number of virtual meetup apps and programs that you can use to do it. One way you can do that is to set up a meeting time, send out the code for the meeting to anyone who is interested, and then let people come in and out of the meeting as they like. That will allow people to talk about your loved one as they want. If you are worried about people talking over each other, then you can set up a moderator who will mute everyone and only allow one person at a time to speak. People can request the ability to speak. You can also set up smaller rooms so people can break up into smaller groups and talk if they want to.

If you have lost a loved one, you want to be able to memorialize their life. It can be hard to do right now, but there are options open to you so that you can have some kind of memorial service
